New Favorite: Chai Matcha Latte

Chai Matcha Latte Ingredients
Every once in a while I’ll have a tea revelation, kind of like that light bulb that goes off. Not sure if this one happened while I was making a cup of tea for a customer. Anyhow, I’ve introduced the new matcha latte mix to customers that comes in an individual packet. It makes it really easy to just add the mix to hot water, hot milk, or even cold milk. I like to use a frother to get it foamy like a real latte. Many customers have been loving this new convenient sweetened matcha mix.
Well, the beep when off in my head the other day and I realized I could spice it up a bit and make a Chai Matcha Latte with the same mix. I immediately got our canister of Organic Ginger Root and began making a half cup of hot ginger herbal tea. Once it had steeped in boiling water for 5 minutes, I added the sweetened matcha mix to it. I then used the frother to make it a foamy latte and voila! Deliciousness in a cup! If you like the spicy ginger along with the fresh creamy green notes of matcha, this is a healthful addition to your fun tea drinks to wow your friends.
The Recipe for Chai Matcha Latte
1 packet Zen Cafe Blend Sweetened Matcha
4 oz. boiling water
1 teaspoon ginger root herbal tea
Steep the ginger root in 4oz. of boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the ginger. Add the matcha mix to the ginger tea. Froth the latte and enjoy! Note: You may want to froth it in a small pitcher as the frothers tend to really cause a whirlpool affect and can make the tea overflow. It happened to me the first time, so just warning you.
Variations:
If you don’t want the sugar that comes in this matcha latte mix, you can use regular matcha. I did this yesterday. I made the ginger tea then just sifted about a 1/4 teaspoon of matcha into the cup of ginger tea and then added about a 1/2 teaspoon of honey for a slight sweetener, frothed it and it was delightful.
