Genmaicha used to be a poor man's tea, since the peasants couldn't afford to have enough tea for their cup, they added roasted rice. Now popular in Japan, this blend of green tea has roasted rice and popcorn, making a savory infusion. Great with sushi!

This loose leaf tea is packaged in our resealable zip-lock pouches that keep light, air, and moisture away from the tea.

LARGER VIEW

This is exactly what you want it to be. Toasty yet grassy, it's a solid way to get through a bus ride in the winter or mental prepare yourself to get some work done on a Saturday morning.

The brown rice and popcorn lend a really smooth, savory, roasted flavor to this green tea. I had tried it once before on vacation and was happy to find it at the TE. I drink it every morning, one of few teas I enjoy without sweetener, but it is also good with it.

A subtle POP of popcorn and rice add an unexpected taste to this tea. My favorite daily drinking tea. I don't add sugar or honey it stands alone. Give it as a gift and watch for effusive compliments on this unique tea treat.
